LIN WARWICK
ABOUT
Lin Warwick is a British contemporary, realist artist. Although her work is inspired by traditional representational art, she is not committed to one set style of painting. Her work is constantly evolving as she explores other materials, techniques and ways to express creativity.
As a self-taught realist artist she feels that there is so much to be learned from artists that have gone before. The radiance created by Carrivagio, the colours and narratives created by Millais, the beauty of Bourgeraux and the naturalism of Bastian-Lepage. She is constantly being excited and inspired by beautiful art and issues of humanity and emotion.
Rembrandt has influenced some of her earlier portraits such as ‘The man with the tattooed arm’ and in her resent work the colour’s and style of Bougereaux were an inspiration for her Angelic triptych ‘Without wings‘.
Although constantly learning from the past she is finding new inspiration in the work of current American realist artists, Steven Assael, Jeremy Lipking, Jeff Hein, Ruth Franzen and Mark Boedges. She has recently studied with Alex Venezia.
Lin has recently exhibited at The Society of Women’s Artists at The Mall Galleries in London and with the Oxford Art Society.
